Benghazi (Libya), August 16, 2009 - Bloodbath in Benghazi. At least 20 Somali refugees were killed by Libyan police during a failed attempt to escape from the detention center Ganfuda, where they were detained because undocumented. Five of them have died in the shooting of the police at the time of flight. The other 15 would rather die as a result of the violence inflicted by their agents Police armed with batons and knives. The repression was fierce, casualties would be at least fifty, mostly Somalis. The facts date back to the first week of August. The news was released Aug. 10 from the website of the Somali Diaspora Shabelle Media Network, who spoke by phone with an eyewitness of the massacre. The news was echoed by the press Libya (Libya Watanona) and international ( Voice of America). And it is confirmed by a third source, which Fortress Europe is in direct contact in Benghazi, but which we can not reveal the identity for security reasons. Although currently nothing is known about the exact findings of fact and it is not known with certainty the number of victims, it is still the worst massacre took place in Libyan detention camps. A news credible in light of the most atrocious massacres well as what it was made in Tripoli, in the Abu Salim prison in June 1996 and which cost the lives of hundreds of Libyan prisoners. The Libyan authorities quickly denied the report. The Libyan ambassador stationed in Mogadishu, CIIS Rabiic Canshuur called the news a "lie" and asked reporters: "before you speak or write should deal with us."
